    All of my snakes have at least one hide because the water bowls double as hides. Most of them also have a flower pot saucer hide on the warm side as well. I've never seen the addition of a hide make a snake unhappy.

    If they eat with no hides then that's your answer. If they don't then add a hide to make them feed more secure while feeding.
