Lavender Albino het markers

I recently picked up these two 50% Possible Het Lavender girls for my DH Lavender Snow Male to breed to in a year or two. They are 08's but on the smaller side. I was just wondering if any of you have noticed any het markers or differences between the normals and hets? My breeder told me that his het Lavs tend to be brighter than the normals. That being said...I'm very hopeful of the second girl pictured. There is something very odd about her coloring.

Honestly, I have not noticed that. I produced quite a few hets and have looked for possible markers but don't see much. There was a rumor going around years ago that they hatch out a more orange color but I have not noticed that in my animals. I actually try to produce the darkest hets I can. The darkest hets make the best lavenders.

So you are saying either, neither, or both of these could be hets? That actually makes it more fun! I hope they prove out!

Could I request a photo with some hets/normals in it? Even a het next to a normal? Thanks for the insight!

if the hets looked different or had markers of some sort, then it wouldn't be a recessive trait, it would be co-dom

No as pied is recessive as theres no super form.

No; pied markers are at best unreliable.

My 100% het lav male has some pretty color under his brown, especially along his belly. But I do actually prefer for my hets to be darker, in general--Brandon Boeke has talked me into believing that line breeding for darker hets is the surest way to make high contrast albino anything.

if the "markers" were even somewhat reliable yea it would be... but their not lol. talking with a breeder at tinley, he think that normal hypo might not be recessive because while his normal hets don't look that different, any morph thats het for hypo seems to look different, so who knows that might get reclassified later.

well if it was codom then the super forum would be the pied. just like a pastel is het for super pastel.
