Clear discharge from Cloaca
I recently purchased a Kenyan (East African) Sand Boa, which I believe is female, seeing as how close the cloaca is to the tip of the tail. Anyway, sometimes when I pick her up to get her out there is what looks like a clear drop of water coming out of the cloaca and upon further investigation today it was sticky. I'm checking to see if this is a type of musk or something to be concerned about.
Husbandry
- Sterilite 21 Qt tub
- 90F on Warm side measured from floor
- Humidity (50-55%) which I need to reduce, tips?
- Bedding= crushed walnut
- 2 Hides (rarely used, btw, lol)
- Water is in the tub every other day

Thanks for the reply, I've noticed the KSB is a pretty docile snake, especially being as new/small as it is. She has fed for me already and nothing else seems out of place, no sounds when breathing, clear eyes, good body shape, etc etc.

Re: Clear discharge from Cloaca
I've bumped up the warm side to about 92-93. Since posting this, the last 2 times I've gotten her out there hasn't been anything on the cloaca so perhaps it was nothing to worry about. I've been hearing that Aspen may be better bedding than Walnut, any comments? As far as humidity, even with 15-20 holes in the lid, it seems I can't get it lower than 50% but perhaps Aspen would be better to maintain lower humidity.

I have been using Aspen with my KSB's and it keeps it around 25-30%. However, I am using an aquarium style tank.
