    Just wanted to say thanks

I've only been a member of these forums for a little over a week, but so far, everyone has been amazing. This place truly is a treasure for snake lovers everywhere. I've checked out most of the stickies, I've been through 30+ pages in various sections, and I'm still learning.

My girlfriend and I are contemplating getting another snake next month. It may be soon, but I'm very pleased with Gene, and he was picked up from someone on Craigslist! She wants to get a morph of some kind, so I'm going to at least look into it. I'll do more research as the next few weeks pass and see if I can't find a reputable breeder in the Indianapolis area.

Once again, thanks for all your help, support, and sharing your brainy stuff, I think its called knowledge.

This website is a wealth of knowledge to anyone looking to own Ball Pythons or any other kind of animal. I learned by reading on this website for hours a day and after months of reading, i finally made the jump to get my first one.

They are really addictive and prices go down every year for morphs, so it's only going to get better for people looking to get into visual morphs after only keeping normals.

Re: Just wanted to say thanks

this site was a god send for me.
I kind of had the snake keeping thing dumped upon me.

I was scared to death of snakes at the time but agreed to snake sit. I was more afraid of something happening to the animals that I was in trusted with then the idea of having them in my home.
I got to searching information on them and how to properly take care of them so nothing would happen to them while in my care and well now it's an all new story. LOL

The more I learned the less fear I had of them and I will say I have learned quite a bit from this site.

I see that you are in Indy and there is a show coming up soon at the fair grounds (the 23rd) and there will be one in Noblesville not long after that one.

You should be able to pick up a morph at one of those shows for a good deal.

Have you given any thought at to what you will be looking for?

My girlfriend wants a Pied. They are beautiful snakes, but I'm afraid that would be out of our price range. I personally think spiders are amazing, but the snake would really be for her. I'm content with Gene, my perfect little normal . She's going to do some looking and see if she can't find one she likes, I think.

You can get nice spiders and mojaves for under $200. Pastels are even cheaper. Has she seen those?

How about corn snakes? Those come in so many many colors and patterns.

Is there a specific place on this site, or can someone suggest a site elsewhere, that shows the colors and patterns of various morphs where she can easily look at them to help her decide? Thanks.

Well, here on this site, you can always comb through the Morphs and genetics forums and the Pictures forum and see dozens of different Morphs. A sticky at the top of the Morphs and Genetics forum called the Hunter's Guide will give her some up close descriptions of common morphs.

Outside sources : NERD is a good one, they have a section they call NERD eye candy, and that's very accurate!

Also World Of Ball Pythons, they have a list of some 600+ morphs, most have pictures.
