I decided to put them into the divided 30 breeder. They seem to be doing well.

Great! But, I'd still be worried that it is too big for them. It would have been better to divide the 10 gallon. Especially if you find them cruising their tanks constantly - big indication of stress.

If you have some $, you can go to Staples and buy 2 4L Really Useful Boxes for $7.99 each then put them on top of the UTH in your tank so that one end of each box has heat. You can use a screwdriver to punch a few holes in the containers.

If you can post a picture of your set-up that would help us give you better advise...

These are 2010 babies hatched on 7/31. This will last them until they're 500 grams, then I'm moving them to their own cluttered up 10 gallon (stuffed so that there are no big open spaces) like this:



This will be good until they reach 1000-1200 grams and then they're going to go to the 30gallon.

Disclaimer... I'm in the process of moving all my snakes out of their 30 gallons to a 64L Really Useful Box. Our collection is growing and I cannot maintain more than 4 glass tanks! I can deal with 7 Really Useful Boxes without much of a problem. The tanks require A LOT of maintenance.

If you don't have too much time to check/adjust/check again/adjust again/haul 30 gallon tanks, I suggest you go the plastic tub way!

I will try to get a picture. It is a standard 30 gallon breeder divided with plexiglass and filled about 2" with reptibark. One each side there is a large water dish, large chunks of driftwood creating lots of hide spots, and three giant sea grape leaves (dried of course) that they like to hide under. They (especially the male) do not do much of anything. They move to a new spot, warm side to cool side and back a couple times per day and it is not unusual to see them in one spot all day long. They really like to curl up under the leaves and hide most of the time. I like this particular tank because it has a very secure lid. My 10 gallon lid is kind of shady. Thanks for the pictures.
