Aluminum tape ok for UTH?

On this other site this guy is trying to tell me im making a mistake by using aluminum tape on my flexwatt. The open end of the flexwatt is covered with electrical tape.Whats the deal?

I'm not sure, I think most people use aluminum foil tape on their flexwatt, I do.

Yes i asked on here before and was told to use it. This guy thinks he knows everything and always has smartass comments.

Hi,

As long as you have made sure there are no spots where it can short out the flexwat ( basically the 4 ends of the conductive side strips ) by covering them with electrical tape, as you stated you have already done, then I can't see what he's concerned about.

I can see the guys point of view. If you use aluminum tape on flexwatt AND there is an issue AND the flexwatt tape does have an issue, the aluminum tape can cause a short circuit and a possible fire.

However, it is highly unlikely this would happen. I'm not saying it can't happen, but unlikely.
