MY BURM KEEPS PEEING ON ME!! help!
So, i know snakes pee in the form of that solid white block that it excretes out but trust me.. my hatchling albino burm is peeing! ( liquid form, colour yellow) o.o She's also doing it non-stop. She pees on my arm when i hold her, she pees right after feeding time, she pees ALL THE TIME.
1) Is that normal for burms? ( my rtb's and balls don't do this- ever.)
2) If not, is she sick? what can i do?
She seems perfectly healthy though:
she eats like a pig
perfect shed all the time
no signs of pre-shed
no signs of belly, mouth or scale rot.
As for temps and humidity- i live in a tropical country so we could keep snakes here free of all the nifty artificial gadgets =)

Re: MY BURM KEEPS PEEING ON ME!! help!
Snakes will certainly have liquid urine in addition to the yellow/white urates...especially if they get a lot of water and are well hydrated. Nothing wrong with that part of it.
I've only cared for one burm over the span of a few months...she didn't pee any more frequently than my balls, (about once a week) but I'll tell ya, at her size, when she went, she WENT.
I don't know what size yours is....but based on what you've said, I'm going to guess it's a baby still....and there's a very good chance the frequency of YOU getting peed on has to do with her being nervous about being held. You might reconsider the frequency and/or methods you are using to handle her.

Its a harchling right? Its normal. They pee and bite and thrash as babies when being picked up. Don't be put off, keep holding her, and it'll stop in a month or so.

There you go Judy
Its normal, and nothing to woorry about. Just hold her, don't let her crawl on you or on the couch etc. Keep her in your hands and make sure her tail is supported and she'll stop soon enough.

Don't be a bigot, fool =)) I'm not filipino myself ( I'm half-brit, half-chinese) but the people here are quite sensitive and i love them to death so there.. haha Snakes here aren't as popular but they're becoming increasingly more accepted as pets. We've even got some rare ones already like the piebald spider. Though, don't expect them to come cheap ( snakes here are EXTREMELY OVERPRICED.) A kahl strain boa for example would cost you something like 1,500 USD. ( On the bright side though, beer here costs you only .50 usd tax inclusive and cigs are only 1 usd a box so it's quits =))

to everyone, JLC, anatess, utta
Thanks so much! yes, it's a baby ( just barely 2 feet long) I thought it was sick or something. I own a few balls ( 1 spider and 1 pastel) and 2 albino BCI's and they never pee'd on me! =))

Hopefully that's San Miguel! :-). Or there's the tuba with chicharon.
I'm excited to hear that change in Pinoys! Hopefully my family will get infected by the bug... My son (he's only 9) dreams of opening a reptile store in Cebu.
I see bees in your future...
