ceramic heat emitter?

Hey everyone im moving my female spider from a twenty gal long into a forty gal breeder and my question is,,,should i use a 100 or 150 watt ceramic heater for ambient air heating? I have cardboard affixed to all three sides on the outside of the glass, and will be using a UTH with thermostat,i have an accurite thermometer/hygrometer on its way as well,,,my room probably gets down to around 60 to 65 degrees at night,,,,any thoughts? What do you have covering the top? When I was using glass, I used the old aluminum foil trick. Three layers of it, taped to the screen top with foil tape, added some vents, and a round cut out for the ceramic heat emitter, and it seemed to hold temps and humidity perfectly. Its not the most attractive, but effective.

I use 150 watt CHEs to heat 2'x18''x2' and 18''x18''x2' exo terras. My room temp gets into the low 60s and high 50s, but the cage stays toasty in the 80s. I regulate with rheostats.

You MUST use substrate if you're using CHEs with ball pythons, they suck up humidity like no tomorrow.

I can only get away using CHEs in fully planted terrariums, which have high humidity anyways.

I have not moved her yet so i dont have anything covering the top of the cage but i will take your advice and be using foil to cover the top for humidity.That is an awesome idea,,,,,,so you guys think a 150 watt will work?,,,not too hot huh?

I would think a 150 should be plenty... When I had my glass 20L is was using a 75, and it worked nicely.

What wattage do you think would be best for a 34gal with a heat pad? The day light only adds 4°f.

I would say 100, what are temps like in the room the enclosure is in?
