What do you have covering the top? When I was using glass, I used the old aluminum foil trick. Three layers of it, taped to the screen top with foil tape, added some vents, and a round cut out for the ceramic heat emitter, and it seemed to hold temps and humidity perfectly. Its not the most attractive, but effective.
