How to set the value of snkes forsell/trade?

Ok I trying to get my head to wrapp around the marketing of snakes in value if sell and trade value. I seen bee and pied ( just to examples ) that have about a 200 buck price range for sell. And that for those are the same sex. Also how is trade value different than selling value.

I askingthis cause I been tring to trade/sell my pied and i looking to get a bee and either (butter, lesser, or mojave) and figure out the difference. I posting under general herps since the explaination hopefull can cover or be refered to other snakes. I hate it hard enough keepingthe morph ( higher end )ones straight and remembering to keep my records up to date on the snakes. add anything market related and I get totally .

Re: How to set the value of snkes forsell/trade?

people set the prices for stuff for sale or trade on what they want to get back out of it. ive seen bees for 200 to 600 and the higher priced ones stay for sale a lot longer. thats just how the market is. pieds have always seem to stay around the 1000 price for a while now and should stay there. where albinos can get for 200-300.are u looking to straight out trade your pied for a bee or do u want cash in the trade also?

...Where are you finding pieds for $200? Pounce on that deal, man. You'll never find one again.

think he was refering to the albino.

as for the bee yeah looking for a female one and a lesser/butter/mojave female for my pied ( but this should be i Pm ) I just find it wierd on how some peopel set the values. Yeah I have a proven het female and proven het male ( since they produced my pied) as well as the poosible 66% het siblings. lol I find that odd that peopel would consider a 66% only worth as much as a normal ( same with pastels males only being values at 30-40 but they sell for almost 100 mst the time.) I know some people flip the snaes for a profit. I only breeding to aquire the snakes I know I could not go out and purchase when I want them.

Re: How to set the value of snkes forsell/trade?

Prices will fluctuate depending on the area where you live. Prices will be higher if the breeder thinks he has a great example of that morph. Well respected breeders seem to demand and get higher prices too. As for the regular guy trying to sell a morph, check out what the sell for. Start your asking rpice there. If the snake doesn't sell after some time, drop the price by $25. Keep teying to sell the sell, dropping the price until it sells. But don't drop the price too quickly.

It all up to you as the seller, try to sell the snake for what you think it's worth.
    But be realisitc.

    Good Luck!
    Jim Smith
