    Flourescent Bulbs

I am waiting on my Monster Cages custom cage to arrive. I am using a pro-products RHP for the heat source and thermostat so no additional heat is needed. I was wondering if i could place a flourescent bulb in the cage on a timer..also for those late night spot cleanings when my bp makes a mess.

I have never used flourescent bulbs and am not sure if they are safe to have in a cage or can they hurt the snake? Do they produce heat or just light? Any help would be awesome thanks.

They do add a bit of heat, but not much really. I have Boaphiles and Pro-heat rhp's for my IJ's and it's not a problem...it actually helps keep the cool side steady during my chilly winters. I do keep an eye on them more in the summer as the temps will go up if the flo's are on all day and it's warm to begin with.
