To the OP ---- I'm not gonna advise against Provent-A-Mite or bash it in anyway....but please be careful in using it and follow all directions carefully. I learned the hard way.

and any chemical bad enough the residue left behind yeah not so happy about that one not to mention down the drain in to the water supply yummy since most water treatment plants well reuse water as they found out in CA doing water tests those pills you flush well you get ur small doses right back and this chemical though synthetic has probables on the same things well minus one but basically just as dangerous if misused just as ANYTHING with chemicals is

1. no vid I found and tried to find one on misuse of pest strip as well.....still searching
2. also not there are vids for three methods of getting rid of them
3. yes I am quite aware that people take tid bits and run with them alot of people whether they be new to the hobby or seasoned vets (human nature)
4. Yes, I had a more than one failed experience with PAM that's my experience never had any snake(s) get sick from the no pest strips
5.Vapona....not an ingredient in the hotshot no pest strips as they are for use indoors I do believe strips containing vapona were discontinued.....

Yes I would recommend using the no pest strips properly as well I have used them since I got into the herp field since prevent a mite wasn't available when I got started not to mention I am not thrilled with the thought of spraying chemicals on MY snakes. to each their own I know what works for me I know how to use it properly and I am always open to new ideas so the relentless attack when someone merely asks for advice whos obviously doing research as well is well uncalled for especially sine two other ways were also listed

These strips have been "recommended" for years. There are no accepted safe guidelines for using them around reptiles - as a matter of fact, there are more horror stories about their effects on young snakes and specific species than you will find with PAM, Black Knight, RID, Ivermectin, etc. combined.

I personally used these strips several times before PAM and other permethrin based alternatives were on the market and had numerous issues. Exposures that had no effect on some species resulted in neurological symptoms in others. Small exposure levels almost ALWAYS resulted in noticeable agigtation in my neonates. The manufacturer of these strips even recommends that they not be used in even well-ventilated rooms occupied by human beings for more than 4 hours a day.

Since PAM has been on the market, I have used it repeatedly- I have used it around small snakes, I have used it around many, many different species. It has ALWAYS been effective and it has NEVER caused any issues with my animals.

ok so the residue left in substrate on snake whatever is kosher when they drink it etc if youd read to proper use yo been using them for years properly never had issues with any species of snake or lizard and theyre not exposed to it consistently I've used proventamite.....guess what omg still mites I gave it a try it didnt work for me and well to each his own STOP ATTACKING ME YOU FAIL TO RECOGNIZE THERE WERE TWO OTHER WAYS I LISTED AS WELL BUT NNNNNOOOOOOOO its crap like this the nonsense attacking me no matter where i post heck even a pic that makes me not even want to deal with anyone hear geez
