What I love about the show though, is that Billy is actually very against harming animals. Even when dealing with dangerous rattle snakes, he always tries to relocate them. He know it's not their fault that they are where they shouldn't be.
I watched one episode last night where he had to remove 2 venomous snakes from some sort of duck trap thing. He didn't have his snake tongs so he used sticks and they had quite some trouble getting the snakes out. He could of just very easily bludgeoned the snakes to death with the sticks, however he is completely against unnecessary harming of animals which I think is totally awesome.

Burmese are NOT native to Florida. They are a non-native invasive species.
I'm sure that's what you meant - but clarity is important, IMHO....

Re: Billy the Exterminator
If he said it was a ball python that reached 4-5 feet long and are generally very timid creatures...viewers would not care or get excited. Therefore they make it sound like the worst possible scenerio. Do i think it is total BS? Yes, but for the sake of tv ratings...i see why they do it.

Actually I remember an in depth thread a while back about this. A lot of ppl sent him emails about it, but I dont believe anyone got a reply. He prob wasnt expecting so much backlash from the ball python owning community.

I'm not gonna give him a break just because bps aren't native to LA. He called a cornsnake a copperhead. He later corrected his mistake, but both are native to LA, he SURE should've known better in this case....
The guy is an idiot.

Thanks, Deborah and iCandi. I have no idea why it didn't pop up when I did a search, it just said nothing matched. That or I was just too tired to type it in the right way!

"Reality" shows to not exist! They are all scripted and add stuff for dramtic effect! This is why on any reality show someone freaks out or something goes terribly wrong. How often does things go wrong in your reality? Not on a daily basis! Billy was simply making it more dramatic for ratings. Pythons are not native to the US, it is people letting their pets go!
