I recall reading that the burmball was made by accident when a pair of burms (albinos if I'm not mistaken) and a male bp were kept in the same enclosure, so it's not like this was originally done intentionally (though I'm sure hybrid fans will try more now that they've seen it done).

Hybrids and their prices are weird. There is enough negativity around it that it suppresses the price, but they are difficult enough to create (how many years and attempts did it take to make the superball? I know it was a LONG project to make a handful of animals) that supply is extremely low.
As far as I know, the question is moot simply because I doubt there are any burmballs out there that anyone wants to sell. Most hybrids generally go for between $500 and $5000 from the few I've seen offered.

Some hybrids I find to be VERY ugly but that one has a nice pattern.

I think that snake is sweet. Anybody know how big they get?
I think most people are anti hybrid due to fear. Imagine burmballs slithering around in the Everglades due to some irresponsible owner releasing theirs. That has a huge impact, not only because the animal is not ment to be there in the first place - but technically the animal should not even exist. I don't have a problem with ANY hybrids, as long as they stay in the hands of responsible owners.
1.3 ball pythons (albino, het albino, pastel, lesser)
1.4 leopard geckos (reverse stripe tremper albino, tangerine, carrot tail, snake eyed, patternless)
0.1.4 corns (snow, classic, amel, stripe, ghost stripe)
0.0.1 pueblan milksnake

But the problem is, you know they won't stay in the right hands for long...:/ Idiots tend to get a hand of these projects fairly quickly, and ruin it for the rest of us.

There's just no way to ensure they go to the right owner without severely restricting the ability of the proper owner's ability to get one too.
2.3 normal ball pythons
.1 ultramel motley het caramel corn snake
1. butter motley het caramel+stripe corn snake
1. fiance I had to rehome my kitty, and my dog got cancer and we put her down. RIP.(Did I forget anything?? )

However, the reptile industry would be much better off if there were only hybrids in the Everglades because of their EXTREMELY low fertility rate, coupled with the low probability of them ever breeding on their own. Not to mention, python hybrids tend not to reach the full size of the two parent species. I think this would be an exception with the burmball though because Burmese pythons get so much larger than ball pythons. I wouldn't expect this animal to get anywhere close to a full sized burm though.

i love this snake if i could have one i would i just love the coloring on it the pattern is amazing but im my eyes the best hybrind is the Woma Python x Ball Python= The Wall Python this thing is simply amazing prettiest animal i have ever seen in my opinion

to me i just love its pattern its like the alien heads of the ball and the stripes of the woma got in a big fight
Alien Head: "lets connect here"
Stripes: "no lets keep going up"
Alien Head: "NO connect here"
Stripes: "NO Keep Going Up my friend on the other side is expecting me at the top!"
Alien Head: " No my Friend Next Door is expecting me to meet him over here on the side"
and then the Wall Python was Created (i kno i have too much time on my hands)

Are they as docile as ball pythons? And how long so they really get?
I mean ball pythons are the perfect size and snake basically there is. So why mess with making a burm ball that can grow huge lengths. I think it was maybe unnecessary to do so. Because Like someone said this just poses as a another variable that can threaten the legality of ball pythons.

I am ambivalent about hybrids. In reality, none of our captive bred animals are ever going anywhere near their native habitat--they will never be released into the wild, and they will ALWAYS be pets. Since they will always be pets, why NOT hybridize them? I would never condone hybridizing native species, or endangered or threatened species, but the rest? There's no reason why not. We're creating more interesting pets, nothing more.
HOWEVER...I think some things should be put in place as safeguards FIRST. One of the most important things would be the creation of registries for the species involved. Ball pythons NEED a registry at this point anyhow. A registry would help prevent hybrid genes from contaminating pure ball python bloodlines. In other words, there's nothing wrong with hybrids, so long as you KNOW they are hybrids.
As for the BurmBall itself...the Dwarf island Burmese strain would make an ideal choice for producing hybrids of this type, as it would ensure that the offspring remain the size of a ball python. Dwarf Burms still have a reputation for being temperamental, last I heard, but selective breeding will take care of that over time. Normal Burms are known to be pretty docile snakes, so I imagine the BurmBall is likely to be fairly docile as well (though individual personalities vary).
