    If this is your first carpet python, I recommend specifically looking for one that has already gotten over "snappy baby" stage. Just ask the seller and they can give you an idea of each individual snake's disposition.

    However if you're content with having a snappy baby for a few months, then just pick out the prettiest one and if it's snappy, it will grow out of it fast.

    NEVER let it eat a mouse. 8 foot 10+lb snakes that are mousers are a huge pain and expensive to feed.
