I'm so glad, this is the second BP that took to F/T.

My Bumblebee Maya is a little piggy and has eaten anything (and as often) I've offered, but I started her on live rats. She took F/T starting last week without a hitch, but she is a GREAT eater and anything but shy.

The Pastel Lesser female arrived in shed, and I could tell, she was a bit more of a shy snake. So after weighing her and making a couple "arrival" pictures I've been leaving her alone other then a quick peek to make sure she was alright.

She shed for me 2 days ago, and boy, she was a beauty when she arrived but now she is just stunning ! But I didn't want to handle or make pictures until she eats. I didn't have any live rat fuzzies or pups and couldn't find any of them locally, so I tried my luck with a F/T for her first feeding at my house. At first she seemed interested but not sure what to do. So I removed the Fuzz and reheated one more time with the blowdyrer...second try, wiggle wiggle and SUCESS !!! Yay, first meal, and its F/T.

So now both babies should be on F/T. I'll give "Lily" a day to digest and will handle her for a very short time, just to weigh and make a couple of pictures. I won't handle her a lot until she eats well and consistently.

My Pastel Yellowbelly male should arrive on Tuesday and I hope I can get him on F/T as soon as possible as well. The breeder got him to take a rat fuzzy (live), he only ate mice before that. I like my babies to be on rats and on F/T. It makes things much easier for me.

So anyway, I'm excited I know Maya takes anything, but I wasn't sure about Lily, thought I would have to somehow try to find live rat pups, which isn't easy to do around here...

2 down, 2 to go. Still have to go pick up the Pastel Het Clown male as well, he already feeds on rat pups, but live ones. Hopefully I can get all of them eating F/T rats consistently.

I think it really helps to leave the snakes ALONE until they feel really safe. Patience is everything in the beginning...

Pictures of Lily will follow soon
