Nobody knows for certain it is a lethal combo never mind why if it is.

The speculation exists because nobody has come forward with a proven homozygous spider that produces nothing but spiders or spider combos when bred to anything else.

There would be a lot of work and study needed to determine the truth and that's a lot of spiders that wouldn't be bred to make other combos which is something most breeders wouldn't be intrested in doing.
