day 60 - way under sized

    hello,

i have 1 egg which was cut on day 60. inside is a tiny ball python! the colouring of the scales is all there - it looks proportional, but its still VERY small. I put it back in the incubator, but is there really any chance of this little guy growing enough to be ok?

Yes, there are many stories of tiny little ball pythons growing up to be big healthy adults

no, i haven't touched it, because its sooo small. i just put it back in the incubator, and came online.

should i wait a week, or 2 - and if its not out of the egg, just give it a poke? if it moves...leave it a bit longer? if not - assume its a gonner?

Just leave it alone unless it's smelly. Might be a problem with the umblicus, or it just needs to cook a bit longer than the others. I've had some babies come out a week and a half after others.

So, the bp finally came out of the egg! It's still got, what I assume is the yolk, attached.... this doesn't seem normal. will it just fall off in due time?

It should suck up into its belly. If you keep it in a moist tub(papers towles damp) it should do the rest.
