Re: new water python
There is a great caresheet located in the forums. They can be a little tricky to care for but fun. A friend of mine had one her name was Evil Incarnate and she lived up to that name, but that was a while ago and she was wild caught.

Re: new water python
I have had my male Water Python for 5 or 6 years now. He is a very secretive snake and gets stressed out very easily. Had to move his home into my bedroom where my its much quiter. As for handling he has an excellent temperment. He has never lunged or threatened me at all. Just very active more like a colubrid than a python think it has do with stress. He does love his water though he has a large cat litter box for a water dish that he soaks in every day otherwise he stays in his hide rock all the time.
I have noticed mine every year gets hungry weekly gets fat and then will go 6 months without eating. I wonder if that has to do with the fact that they are and the only migratory snake in the wild. Once yours is an adult I'd like to hear about yours feeding habits.
