Re: 40 qt tub for a 3kg+ female?
All my BP's are in 41q tubs including my 3500g girl. Any of my BP's above 1500g's or so do not have a hide and even a few of my 1200g girls don't. My tubs are 34" x 18" x 7".

I use a small kitty litter pan in a 40 quart tub as a hide. Yours won't fit, or you don't think that it will?

There is also a 60-61qt tub that comes with a hinged lid. It has the same floor space as a 40gal breeder tank. It will hold 2 hides and whatever else you want to add to it...

Both things are true. She'll be fine in that size tub, and she shouldn't need a hide at all.
Ball Pythons don't need to stretch their legs...They don't move around much in the wild and they do just fine, same with in captivity. They prefer small spaces, and she'll feel more secure and safe.

It gets pretty interesting when you throw a 2000 gram male in with a 3000 gram female into a 40qt tub
I'm like well I hope they don't want their own space
