You guys are making me think I don't handle that one enough

I'll try and give him some extra time tonight. I guess after he bit me I've stopped getting him out unless I feed him. Though I also upgraded him to a larger enclosure, so I don't feel he's as cramped.

I'll post pictures of him after he bites me tonight because you guys made me get him out

I usually put my ball python next to the water dish when I change the water and sometimes he'll drink and sometimes he won't. Considering what other people said I've seen him drink a lot compared to other people, probably just because I show him his water dish occasionally.

I've had my ball for almost three months and I've only ever seen him drink twice. But he pees. A LOT. So I'm not worried that he's dehydrated

Re: Do you ever see your snake drink?

I see my bp drink quite often. She almost always drinks after I feed her. In fact, I always make sure to rinse and fill her bowl right before I feed so it's fresh for her. But I catch her drinking more often than that. She's kinda weird for a bp in that she's not very shy. She uses her hide, but when I approach, she almost always comes out to say hi and she won't quit drinking just 'cause I'm there either. So I get to observe more of her behavior than I might otherwise if she were more shy.

Re: Do you ever see your snake drink?

I've seen my ball drink quite often- sometimes I am even handling him and offer him some water in a cup. He can spend as long as 20 seconds drinking, or as long as I can hold him still Your snake may be drinking, but sometimes if they spend a lot of time sleeping in their hide they "forget" to drink even if it's always fresh and available. Check for dehydration...is usually easy to see because the skin will appear a little loose/wrinkled when the snake is curled up. Dented eyes can be a sign too. When Enzo's a little dry I just pick him up and offer him water and he usually takes it. If not I soak him in warm water for ~20 min a day until he gets better.
