    Day 55 Eggs now Dimpling

So its day 55 now and the eggs are now starting to dimple. I would have thought they would be ready to pop by now. My incubator temp is 89 degrees. I have a probe in the egg box and usually its 1-2 degrees lower. So does it look like my eggs are going to take longer to hatch?

Yeah they might take a little bit longer but I wouldn't worry too much sounds like they are doing fine. I would wait till day 60 before getting worried. I incubate at 87- 87.5 and all my clutches usually hatch around day 58. Usually if they have started pipping by day 60 I'll cut to make sure their are no complications...

The longest I have heard of eggs pipping is 68 days. It could be longer but that is longest I have heard. Since your temps were around 87 in the box, it may take a few extra days!

That's what I am hoping it is. The suspense is killing me.

Re: Day 55 Eggs now Dimpling

    I'm at day 57 now, with temps 89 +/- 1
and no pipping! (or movement that I can see)
This is my 1st clutch, and I'm getting
    A little worried now...

If I don't see anything by Friday
Night, I'll be back on here looking for
Advise on cutting eggs. I hope it
Doesn't come to that as I really don't
Want to cut them! I'm worried the eggs
Are too hard for the babies to but through.
They kinda feel like hard leather?? And The few
On top of the pile are really deflated. (humidity 88-94)
The suspense isn't killing me, I'm afraid
Of babies dying because they couldn't get out, and I
Didn't do anything to help them.

Not seeing a lot (or any) movement via candling in the last few days of incubation isn't all that uncommon. The babies are taking up more room in the egg and there's less wiggle room.

Quite, I don't see much movement either. What's the longest hatch time period you have heard of? Someone else mentioned 68 days.
