We finally had a few days below 100 degrees and there was actually a cloud in the sky so I took a few pictures of one of the yellowbelly pieds outdoors post-shed. Also I had promised to follow up with eye pictures of the lesser pied. Last but not least, a picture of our latest combo clutch with a Spied and a Coconut Pie!
Yellowbelly Pied, AKA Pumpkin Pied
This Lesser Pied eye color is really tough to figure out. They are very reflective and there is really no discernible color other than seeing red in the pupil if you look at it just right. It is my opinion that because the eyes are a little smaller, the pupils tend to be open wider so the red color or the reflections dominate the eye color.
This is what I get when I use the flash indoors... A reflection from the flash.
Here is a picture taken indoors under a fairly bright fluorescent light. You can see a hint of what may be pale lesser eye color around the large pupil.
And next is a picture taken outdoors.
And finally here is our latest clutch: 3 Pieds, 3 Spider Het Pieds, 1 Spied, and 1 Coconut Pie!
Thanks for looking!
