Your snake should be eating small adult mice or rat pups at that age. I have a four month old male that is eating rat pups and will soon be eating bigger prey.

You can feed your bp something that is as thick as he is at the thickest point of his body. At least that's what I was told...
Hope someone who is more knowledgeable than I am can confirm.

Re: when should i give my bp bigger mice
It's often hard to tell by the weight of the snake, because they could be long and skinny, so they get the weight from the length, or they could be short and thick.
The way you'll know you need to move them up is when you see the snake touring around a lot at night and looking around, because they're "hunting". I'd suggest that when you're moving them up a food size, feed the snake two of the smaller feeders per feeding for a couple of times before you move them up to the bigger item, so that they're a bit more used to having more food.
When you see them prowling around, you should start feeding more. Go for a prey item that's about as big around as your snake at their widest part.

Re: when should i give my bp bigger mice
I have never seen a weight guideline as to what to feed when, and I have read a lot.
Snakes can handle way more than people give them credit for so if your snake is 2 inches think at its widest, find a prey item of that size.
My 3-4 month olds are eating adult mice.

Re: when should i give my bp bigger mice
Most balls can eat a hopper mouse for the first meal...So Your 4-6 month old ball should at least be eating adult mice!!!
