    how to stop fleas?

I just saw a fleas (3 of them) on my rats. How do I solve this before it becomes a problem with out killing the rats. I already know were they came from, my uncles dog and probably mine so I'll be spraying some poison tomorrow. Also my male has been sneezing a lot could it be a repository infection?

Rats sneeze because there is something bothering their noses or they are stressed out.
Dirty Bedding, ammonia, odors that they shouldn't breath, lots of things can cause a rat to sneeze.
Trying to figure it out can be a bear but if you don't it can turn into a respiratory infection and the rat becomes food.
Ammonia build up is a very common cause.

You can't keep fleas off your rats if your other animals have them.
Treat the house and the dogs and make sure the rats are outside when bombing or spraying the rooms.
Rats make great temporary hosts for fleas

    Re: how to stop fleas?

I think the sneezing was his sinuses acting up because mine was sneezing around the same time I was having trouble with mine, he hasn't been sneezing so I guess that was it. I'll be sure to keep my room swept just in case it was dust.

I keep my door closed so the fleas are only getting there because of me so to solve that I'm going to try to eat garlic more often. I heard it keeps fleas and ticks away so it's worth a shot.
