    Platinum X ? = ?

I'm planning to get a Platinum and was wondering if anyone could answer some genetic questions about it. I want to cross the Platinum with other co-dom and recessive morphs but don't quite understand the 'hidden gene' allele. Here's what I'm thinking as an example......

    Platinum X Bumblebee =
    Killerbee
    Lesser spider
    Lesser pastel
    spider
    pastel
    bumblebee het platty?
    spider het platty?
    pastel het platty?
    het platty?
50% Poss het platty (normal looking)?

The ? are the ones that I'm not too sure about. Am I missing anything? I'm thinking that the platty will give one gene or the other (lesser or hidden) to each offspring so anything not lesser will have the hidden gene allele? Now recessive genetics with example.....

    Platinum x Albino=

    Lesser 100% Albino
    DH platty albino?
    Het platty?

Again, along the same lines of the platty giving one gene or the other. The het platty will come out as normals right? So if any normals are in the clutch....will it be 100% het platty's or just poss het platty's?

Let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

lesser platinum x bumblebee = lesser pastel spider (queen bee), lesser spider (lesser bee), lesser pastel, pastel spider (bumblebee), pastel, spider, lesser platinum, normal.
all can hatch whit the same probability.

lesser platinum x albino produce lesser platinum het albino and het albino

sorry i misunderstood your question, you're interested on platty daddy...

it isnt that hard. ralph crossed a platty x stingerbee this season. he wrote that everything that is not a lesser will be carry the het daddy gene.

if i understood that right, u get all the odds what u would get normally from these crosses, but all morphs that are not pure lessers carry the hidden gene.

    thats basically it.

Basically anything you hatch that does NOT have the lesser gene, would be het for platty. So a lesser/spider/pastel would be just that, but a spider/pastel would carry the platty gene.

If you breed an actual Platinum to anything, you won't get any "normals" any "non lesser" will be het Platty. The only way you can get poss het Platinums is to breed lesser x het platinum. But otherwise it sounds like you have the genetics straight.

I thought Lessers didn't carry the Hidden gene either, but in this video Ralph bred a Platty Daddy to a Butter female and produced a Butter/Lesser Daddy...Maybe it had something to do with using a Platty...

Yep, the hatchling got the butter gene from the mother, and the hidden gene from the father.

    Re: Platinum X ? = ?

we were fighting about that on a german forum. i always heard and read that lessers dont carry the hidden gene (even ralph said it to me personally in an email).

then the guy looked on his birthing record page and he had a clutch 06 (or so) where he breed a lesser to a platty and get plattys from that.

in a 2010 clutch from platty to stinger bee he wrote that everything in that clutch that is not a lesser, will carry the hidden gene.

that basically means that lessers cant carry that gene.

to get more fuel into my confusion i always see on nerds page that he sells hidden gene lessers for 750$ (but all lessers he sells as hidden gene lessers came from a breeding were a hg woma was involfed- so maybe theres more about the hg woma than we thought).

for me it was always clear that lessers dont carry the hidden gene.

to end all this debate on the german forum someone wrote ralph an email, but he didnt responsed to it till now.

i dont know, but for me lessers still cant carry the hidden gene.

from that clutches were he get plattys from butter/lesser to platty daddy, i thought that they were maybe be paired with a het daddy last year and they saved the sperm and used it for this clutch (we have a real word for it, but i dont think u would understand that- hope u get what i mean)

    Re: Platinum X ? = ?

in the video he says- when u breed a platty to a clown, u will get double hets. normals that are het for platty and het for clown (thats the one we are looking for). then we get lesser that are just het for clown.

so he says that the lessers dont carry the hidden gene. but how in hell would u get plattys from breeding a platty to a butter?

it just doesnt add up. the butter maybe really save the sperms from the last breedeing season or so.

otherwise it doesnt make sense to me...

i got another idea. maybe they arent plattys. but he thought from the look. and in the end they were lessers (or butters) like these lesser:

i think it must have been looked much brighter as babies
