    Day 54 - a couple concerns.

So I'm sure you guys are sick of me asking things about this little egg of mine, but the time is almost done and I'm just worried!

So I took this picture today. The last few days it's been developing that whitish stuff. I got a bit worried thinking the egg was going bad cuz I didn't see any movement, but when I took that picture today, s/he was movin around so I know it's still alive. What could that whitish stuff be? =/

And if you can see at the bottom, it's kind of starting to squish into the lighting grate. Is that just from the weight of the baby?

Sorry to keep asking things! I'm just going to be worried until the lil dude/dudette comes out!

the white looks like the yolk sac has moved. And softening of the egg is due to the egg is getting ready for the baby to hatch. The eggs get softer to help aid with them cutting it open their tooth.

If your very concerned cut a V in the egg

Oh ok. Phew! thank you!! I was debating to cut a V on day 56, so in a couple days. Maybe day 57 since I was incubating at 87.5*, but I may just wait and see if it pips itself.

Thank you for the quick response!

I incubate at 88.5 and all babies are out by day 54 some sooner.

    87.5 you can cut now.

I have seen people cut eggs at day 52 with no issues. I was told by some impatient friend earlier, which I really would not recommend. You will be fine. I use the pedicure scissors to cut without injury or harm. Let us know how it looks.
