Guttloading Feeders

Hey I had a interesting thought today as I was seperating my new Asf into 2 colonies. Should I think about gutloading them before "processing", I try and feed F/T whenever possible. If so what would be the best to "finish" them with.

As long as you are feeding them a diet with at least 16% protein, no need to "gut load"

Ya I feed a mix of barley, oats, corn, sunseeds and pellets. stardard rabbit farmer mix Just thought if I held food for half a day then fed them right before the end, It would be nice and clean as fair as voiding on death, and bellies would be certainly nice and full.

well they are going to void &/or defecate when constricted, it's all apart of it.

but not in the freezer I try and feed F/T if possible and 50 rats in a tub makes a big mess by the time its all over. I hold my feed for chickens before butcher for a clean and less smelly job. So if the extra feed in there bellies is ok to have then i will try it and see how it turns out. Thanks Lace for at least touching the thread, find it a little weird that there is not more input since this practice common in insect feeders.
