    Rheostats/dimmers DO NOT work very well unless you have almost perfect room temps. My dimmer fluctuates a lot because my room goes from 70-77 during the day and I'm always going back to turn it down or up. It's really annoying.

    Thanks for all the replies here. I was using dimmers and even though the temperature changes in my room aren't drastic, they still weren't such a good solution. I bought a Hydrofarm thermostat because of this thread and I love it!

    I bought 2 a while back they get the job done , though I just bought a helix to run my incubators,

    i have a hydrofarm on order as well, i hope it works as well as you all have reported! at the moment i'm using a dimmer and have issues with temp changes. its set up to be ~94-95 during the hottest part of the day, but dips to the high 80's at night.

    I have a Hydrofarm for my leopard gecko and its amazing

    It always holds temps within the range I need (90 - 94) you will be very happy with this product
