Baby ball question
Ok so very soon I'm going to be getting my first ball. I've done a ton of research and got it all pretty bunch down on how to care for these guys. But my question is that my buddy has a 15 gal that he said I can use. I know everyone says a 10 gal is the right one for babies and any bigger will stress him out but will the extra couple of inches really make a difference and how long will I be able to keep him in this before I have to upgrade to a bigger tank.

Yes, a 15 gallon will be fine. Just fill it up with substrate and hides and maybe some plants and logs so it doesn't feel as big to him or her.

The difference between a 10gal and a 15gal is the height of the tank. So, the floorspace is exactly the same. So, yeah, for a bp who is terrestrial, a 15gal is about the same as a 10gal. If you clutter the space up with fake plants and such, it won't feel too big to the baby bp.
You'll need to upgrade this tank in a year. If you don't care much for a "display tank", the easiest way to house a bp is by using a plastic container - like the Really Useful Box found at Staples or a sterilite container (gray handles).

these are 40-41 quart tubs I love them and I prefer them over any other tub.

would that reptile carpet be fine for a substrate, I like the neatness of it and it seems pretty easy to keep up on cleaning. And also doesn't seem like it could cause a RI like aspen.(dustiness)
My first thoughts were that it is fine because some people keep their snakes on newspaper. But I'm open for suggestions.

If aspen caused RI then I suppose millions of snakes would not be kept successfully on it for many years 
I use and like paper towels the best.
