I used to do a lot of spearing back in the day but once I put a reel on my bow I can honestly say I will probably never go back.

Saw a video once of some guys doing that with those jumping carp that have invaded the Mississippi - they were running the boat along at pretty high speed in daylight, and the fish were jumping in the boat's wake. They were actually shooting them out of the air, which seemed to me to be a pretty impressive display of skill with the bow.
Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

It's a bowfin, a native to much of the US and a fairly rare fish in many parts, but in some places in the midwest is plentiful. The males get some rather surprising bright blue coloration on their faces and parts of their body during spawning.
Good shooting, keep it up!
P.S. do you make use of your catch? I don't mind throwing carp in the dumpster, but that bowfin and white sucker are pretty good eating according to the scandinavian friends of mine here in MN
I was thinking of taking up bowfishing and chasing suckers, pickling them is the way to go and my gf's family is just gaga for pickled fish. Finns are funny that way.
