my BP escaped

Well its day 3 since the escape and I checked all the warm areas and moved a lpt of furniture. So now I have put Scotch tape at all dooways, in front of furnitue and etc. So just wondering what else I can do to find my escaped BP?

Your snake is going to get hurt on the tape... Try setting a hide out somewhere with a heat mat under it, and put a live meal in a critter keeper near the hide or a FT inside the hide on the heat.

Check again. Check spots that you think would be too small to hide. If you have a non-carpeted floor and it's a rarely traveled area, consider putting some sort of powder (non-toxic, obviously) down on the ground to see if it moves through the area, though it will often take a long time for he/she to move. Lastly, check spots that may be off ground level if there's any possible way he/she could have gotten off the ground.

Tape??? No...pull all that up, please!

Flour on the floors can show the tracks of nighttime travel.

In the evening, try sitting VERY quietly in a dimly lit room...whichever room might give you the best listening spot for the most square footage of the home. Just sit quietly and read a book or something. And LISTEN. Also, beforehand, you can scatter plastic grocery bags...push 'em behind/under furniture....anyplace you think might have snake traffic. And then just LISTEN for her to make some noise.

If you have any warm-blooded critters in the home, you can pay attention to them, they will often alert you to the snake's hiding place.

Don't dismiss cooler areas for hiding...don't dismiss tiny openings or tight squeezes...and don't dismiss height. Ball pythons have been found crammed up behind the toilet, between the tank and the wall....definitely not a warm spot, but must have seemed secure enough to the snake! LOL They've been found behind dresser drawers. They've been found on ceiling rafters and tops of book shelves. They can squeeze themselves through and into astonishingly tight spaces.

Don't give up!!

EDIT to clarify a thought: Sitting quietly does not just have to happen in the evening...that's just the most likely time of snake activity. But ANYtime you're at home and can be quiet to listen...do so!

Empty out all the drawers. Yes, EMPTY it out.

We had our bp lost for, I think it was 2 days, and we finally found him inside a drawer underneath all the paper. We never thought he could fit in the crack behind the drawer to even get in there! We checked all the drawers, of course, just shuffling papers around to see if she's hiding there. We never saw her - she was all the way to the back underneath all the paper. We finally found her when we emptied all the drawers.

Going to assume you checked behind the stove, fridge, washer and dryer..... check and make sure your dryer vent does not have holes. if the tube for the air has a hole a snake can and will make it bigger and then it will get into the vent pipe which leads outside. Check all plumbing exits to insure that they are calked as pipes coming into and out of the house tend to move around and make little gaps. Trust these guys when they say no hole is to small. Check laundry baskets and anything that could be warm and damp. Let us know on your progress.

Well so far no luck, sigh if he went to the basement I'll never find him. I'm thinking I may out out a dead mouse for him with Scotch tape all around( yes I know it may be bad) but I need to find him sooner then later because I have family coming in a month and they are not snake lovers.

Scotch tape is just really not a good idea, I can see this ending very badly for your snake..
