Is getting one from an online breeder a good idea?
Matt
For a BP that small, I would set it up in something like a 10-15 quart tub. You set a tub up just like a regular tank. 2 hides, a water bowl, Under Tank heater or Flexwatt tape, thermostat and a thermometer or temp gun. I'm doing the same thing with my boas. They aren't big enough for the 4X2 enclosures yet so I have them living in tubs until they are ready.
Buying online can be either a good experience or a bad one. A little research on your part will go a long way. First, you can go this website. They have a Board of Inquiry that people post good or bad experiences with breeders. You can type in the breeders name in the search function and it will pull up all the threads on that breeder. If there aren't any, you can start a new thread in the BOI section asking about them, etc.

It's best, when you contact them, to use e-mail, and save them all, just in case a dispute arises. Make sure you have them explain their Terms Of Service. That way there are no misunderstandings about what guarantees they make and what responsibilities each party assumes. On the day of delivery, make sure you can be home to accept the package. Also have a camera handy so you can document the opening and unpacking of the box and snake. As soon as possible, send an e-mail to the seller and let them know that the package arrived, the condition of the package, and the status of the animal. Most online transactions go smoothly and without incidence, however, ther are some shady characters out there, which is why it's always good to ask around. There is an Inquiries/Feedback sub-section in the Business section on this website that would be a good place to start.

I hope this helps some and happy hunting...
