    what would you do?

I got this normal female the other day. Im thinking about breeding her to my het clown male to see if she could possibly be a het. what would you try breeding her to? I have a spider, pastel, mojave, cinny, and yellowbelly.

I would rotate her with the pastel, cinny, and mojo. Depending on where you got her, the odds of her being a het are really low. With her black back, and reduced pattern, I would go cinny. The mojo would be a great choice too, and if you go with pastel you could get some nice pastel females for future breedings. Pewters, pastave's, bee's. The possibilities are endless. Good luck!

I would do a whos your daddy clutch and see what pops out. I wouldnt bother with the Het clown just because the chances are EXTREMELY low and you wouldnt know what egs the het sired.

Spider, is what I'd personally choose.

If I'm wrong here, correct me. But If you breed her with the het, you'll get possible hets and you'd have to breed the pos hets back to the sire to prove it out.

Yeah... you wouldnt have to breed it back to the sire if you had something else that was the actual morph (in this case clown) or possible het for that morph

so if you have a clown and breed it to a normal youll get all normal looking ball pythons that are 100% het for clown... to prove them out you can either breed the hets to an original clown or to another het offspring... just know that your chances decrease a lot more with het x het...

this breaks it down a little better with pictures

    Re: what would you do?

here's my situation, i have 15 normal females that will breed this year. 2 female pastels,2 female het pieds and 1 female het albino. i have all of the males i listed plus a pied and an albino who are ready and an axanthic who might be ready late season. I have a het clown male and a het lav albino male who i decided are each gonna get 2 normals. then raise up all of the female poss hets and breed them back to the males. (I think this will be alot of fun) and the female hets for those morphs are so expensive lol. so i have enough females to go around for my codom males. with this added info, what do ya think? I have 2 nice black back females to go with the cinny. and I wouldn't expect her to be het clown, but when i looked at this girl i just saw nice clowns written all over her lol.

on another note, i also got this not so normal female too. I plan on breeding her to my axanthic male. but also wonder what she will do with my other morphs lol. does anyone see anything special in her? also, the pics of her and the other girl were taken back to back so the lighting is all the same to give you a better idea of her color.
