    Breeding Male Weight

    Good Morning All,
So I was cruising Fauna last night, and stumbled across a Lesser Bee Male that I just absolutely have to buy. He's about 120 grams, I talked to the seller, and he thinks it could be possible to breed him this season. Do you guys think its possible without risking the health of the snake? I know the minimum that people breed is around 500 grams, but recommended is 650-700+ ... Im more than likely going to pick this guy up regardless, I was just curious to see if anyone would think I could breed him this season.

This is my first season breeding, I will start pairing in December. Maybe I could hold a female off until around February to give him time to get up to size.

Let me know what you guys think!

    Thanks,
    Trey

That question really depends on who you ask. You will get all kinds of answers. I say if he is producing sperm, he is good to go. You just have to keep a close eye on him. I'm sure many will not agree... Good luck either way.

    Re: Breeding Male Weight

i like the theory of if you put your snakes together and he does his job hes ready... if not you at least tried... usually the females are the ones you have to worry about breeding to early, with them needing to be big enough to develop and hold eggs their weight is more critical... males get the easy job
