First year not going so well...

This is my first year breeding balls, and out of 4 clutches only 2 hatched with no problems. I had the weird maggot issue with #3 and then I decided to cut #4 tonight on day 62. This clutch was from my female pastel x 3 males: pastel, spider, cinny. Out of 5 eggs 4 were fully formed but dead. Fingers crossed that the last one makes it, it appears to be a super pastel. Oh well, there's always next year. As for the corns... 110 hatched so far with 4 more clutches still to hatch

Thanks, I was hoping for a better turn out but you never know. Hopefully next year will be better. My black pastel female is right at 1200 now and I just picked up a black pastel male for her.
I have WAY too many corns. I have about 80 ready to go... and haven't posted the first ad. Call me lazy

    Sorry to hear about this.

You will learn, as you probably have learned with corns, some years are better than others....

This is my 5th year breeding balls...and probably has been my worse to date. I have lost a pied clutch and a cinnamon clutch so far this year...hopefully next year goes a bit better for the both of us.

This is my first year too. I tried to breed 7 females. I only got two to give me clutches, plus one that was not supposed to gave me some normals (dont ask, my first year, ok?) But, I am very glad to say I havent lost any actual eggs yet. I have one clutch of 5 still incubating. I dont know exactly when they were laid, as I found them after a 9 day stint in the hospital, lol. But the eggs are alive and I expect a good turn out.

So, my disappointment is that I didnt get as many girls to ovulate as I had hoped. But, I am very happy with my "practice" year.

    Good Luck to All!!

Update on clutch #4... none of them made it. I thought the super pastel was gonna be ok, but lost it too. Dang and this was a killer clutch... 1 normal, 2 pastels, 1 super pastel, and a pewter.
