Woods toxic to reptiles include many fragrant and oily trees. As laurel leaves are commonly used in cooking (bay leaves), I would most definitely steer clear. A google search on toxocity, laurel, ball python yielded results that pointed in the "no" direction. If you want to provide your snake with come climbing items, I would suggest either mopani wood or the stick on adjustable fake bamboo rods that they sell in pet shops. Just remember that as BPs are center heavy, nothing that could be potentially climbed upon should be more than 6-8 inches off of the ground in case they fall and never situated over anything hard.
