I refuse to click on the link, since I know the stupid comments will raise my blood pressure... but from what you're all saying, it sounds like the cops handled this well! Funny how a cop from NJ knows what to do with a snake, whereas those Florida cops I posted about (long time ago, from a Cops episode) were clueless - and bashed a harmless rat snake over the head, for daring to be OUTSIDE a woman's home. You'd think a cop from the southeast would know better, considering they actually have wild/native reptiles in their region.So kudos to the NJ police, and I hope they find his original owner (or a good new home).
