I personally believe that all morphs eventually fade/darken up with age. Just my $0.02....I haven't really seen a morph that didn't.

Haven't seen many adult lessers, mojaves, hypos? They all get lighter as they age

Ask him to show you some of his adults, then. Simple enough.
There are many lines of pastel. Some more common than others. In the end, they're all pastels. Choose the one that you like most.

the name of the line doesn't matter much, look at the animal your buying and mayb the parents of the animal, that will tell you more about how it will most likly look. name of the line means next to nothing.

I have a Pastel Female from a Gratziani Pastel x Imported Female that seems to brighten with every shed... I can't attatch her picture here but if interested in seeing what she looks like as an '07 shoot me an e-mail cathys99471@aol.com.. All snakes are different so just chose the one that cathces your eye or the one that makes the money burn the hole in your pocket

IMHO, once the pastel leaves the breeder that started the line and is bred the offspring can only be loosly associated with the line. I say this due to the selective breeding done by the breeder of a line in not only the first generation, but every generation after wards. I will shoot myself in the foot here as a primary example. Last year we bred our male Graziani line Pastel Het Albino to the normal in our collection that we thought would best compliment it and we got some amazing pastels that we held back and are still looking good this year. On the same note this year one of our pastel breedings was just an extra normal female we didn't know what else to do with and our pastel was the only male with one partner. That clutch of pastels were not impressive and we sold them off in a whole sale lot.
With that said we also have a Female blond pastel that is from the Matrix line and she is an amazing looking girl at 4 years old and made us some amazing looking animals this year. Granted we paid twice the going rate for pastels for her since she was an amazing hatchling as well, but it is all about getting the best quality to get the best quality out.
