Snakes while in college?
Ok, so when I go to college, I want to bring my 2 snakes with me. My Ball Python, and my CA Kingsnake. But, I don't want any stupid punk messing with them and doing crap with them that they shouldn't be doing. Or, theres a second option. When I go to college my little brother will be about 10 years old, but for some reason I don't really trust him, or my mother, or my father taking care of them both. Because I know they won't pay attention to their cage, I know they won't clean their cage when needed, and all the other crap.
Would this be a good idea? I would like to take them to college but I don't want anyone messing with them.
Thanks.

I believe they make cage clips with locks on them. You could take them to college with you and lock up the cages. Explain to people that you don't want anyone touching them without supervision. Hopefully that will work.

there are several cages that have lock holes made into them you just need to add a lock

If you're in a dorm, I'd check up on the rules about pets. As much as it would suck to leave them behind, it would suck more to have them taken away or to get kicked out of your dorm for trying to hide them
That said, if your situation allows them, just buy a cage that will allow locks they can be kind of pricey imo, but if you're going for security than I wouldn't take chances on trying to make your own

exactly, my wife had her hamster poisoned by her school. she had left for the weekend and when she returned she found two notes, one said she had 24 hours to remove it and the 2nd said that they took care of the problem and her hamster was dead in its cage.
