Mike, I can help more when I get home from work tonight if you have any more questions.
But thats a Red Blood Python. Quality captive bred animals from knockout parents can run you upwards of 1000 bucks, while farmed Ch animals can be had for as cheap as 80 bucks.
Hot side temp, if you even provide one can be around 84 to 86. Hot spots arent necessary and I only provide one for my adults, at the 84-86.
Cool side/ambient temps should be ~80-82.
Humidity needs to be 60-70% and right before they shed their skin, I just dump the water bowl and soak the cage and it works every time.
Fresh water EVERY OTHER DAY.
Don't worry about any hides, just give them a nice layer of newspaper that they can get under and hide. This mimics their natural behavior in the wild of hiding under fallen leaf litter.
Little stuff like, watching how much you feed them is important, a fat blood is an unhealthy one. And water bowls big enough for them to soak in are absolutely unnecessary. Just the fresh water every other day is all thats needed.
