mites will look like Lil specks that move check under it's mouth is how i usually spot them in-between the scales you will see what looks kind of like a grain of sand.
sometimes you will see them crawling around on the snakes could be anywhere from head to tail
but like i said 9 out of 10 times if you got mite you can see them very easy under there chin in the skin fold right in the middle of there chin
a not realy a sure sign but a way that will help you to rember to check for mites is if the snake always seems to lay in the water bowl even after shedding. by this i mean it shed lets say last Tuesday but is still laying in the water bowl i'd check for mites and ticks. but since you didn't say anything about yours soaking all the time i'd say it is just hungry.
or could even be you just cleaned the cage in the last few days before it started roaming but my money is on hungry
