Re: Do you guys think Albino's will be $100 in a couple years?
The more people breeding, the more produced. This will drop the price, it would have to. Even the bees will start dropping as more people get wind of the money to be made from breeding morphs, breeders will start popping up everywhere! Just my thoughts

Its a shame that albinos drop below $500 dollars. Such a beautiful morph being sold for nearly nothing. I understand the concept of supply and demand but its a damn shame.

Supply and demand I agree with. But I highly doubt an albino will be worth that of a normal anytime soon.

Historically Recessives hold their value longer than the others because they are harder to produce. To make a lot of Albinos it takes a lot of Albinos. You don't plug an Albino into five normals and expect to get Albinos. It requires hets or homozygous animals to produce them therefor they are harder to produce so they hold value longer.

I agree that the recessives should hold their value longer, that is what I don't understand. Anyone can buy a normal female and breed it with a bee, or pastel girl with a spider, etc and get some nice morph spiders, pastels, and bees..... leading to so many other morphs. But to breed Albinos, seems so much more difficult considering they both have to have the gene. It also seems like there are not a lot of Albinos out there, but the price is still so low.
I have a 10 BP rack and I do not plan on expanding, just upgrading my BP's as I produce nicer snakes. Keeping up with 10 snakes keeps things very simple and enjoyable for me. My plan was to eventually end up with all Albino's, but since their value has decreased so much and will continue to decrease, I will probably go another route. I am NOT in it for the money, but producing some of the more valuable morphs means more trade value/funds, which provides me with.........upgraded and better racks, supplies, vet bills, feeders, cleaning supplies........well, you guys know. I am sure I will get one or two Albinos, since they are my favorite morph, I am just not sure how they fit into my breeding projects.
