I live in central Florida and like some of the others have mentioned, I have been through several hurricanes. I have went for up to 2 weeks without power. I live on an airport that caters to small aircraft. Because of that, our "power lines" are ran underground. So, we have a lot of problems with our power going out, even if it is a beautiful day and the skies are blue.

My father has had a generator ever since I can remember. We haven't had a significant power outage since I've had my snake, but I will take advantage of the generator when I need it. They are a great thing to have.
