    BP in toilet??

I lost my Male BP 2 days ago. He is about 3 FT long. I have tore the house apart looking for him every where.

The last place i can think he would have gone would be the toilet . Is that even possible though?

I doubt he would go in the toilet, even if he did he wouldnt try and swim through the pipes. Have you tried setting any snake "traps"?

I have lost a snake or two before haha. I would look in places that are dark and warm, try around the stove, refrig, dryer, or television. You could put a shoebox somewhere you think he might be near and cut a hole in the side for him to go in and a heatpad beneath the box. Or you could try flour on the ground to see if he passes over it, most likely he will stay close to the walls.

    Re: BP in toilet??

I had an escape-prone snake a while back. Found the sucker in my laundry basket most times...near as I can figure he was aiming for a scent he recognised (aka me) and associated with warmth...the one time he got loose and was found almost immediately was rather funny. He got loose at night...aparently got cold outside his tank (this was years ago, long before I switched to tubs) and I awoke with him curled up around my neck for warmth.

Best of luck finding your lost BP...definitely try the flour-on-floors unless you have carpet.

places I have found escaped snakes, fridge, dresser, wall( via small hole) and yes after missing for 2 months one of my BP's ended up in the toilet bowl. a small mouse in a cage next to the hole in the wall got that snake out.

    Re: BP in toilet??

No, he wouldn't go in the toilet. He's just outsmarted you for the time being. Set out waterbowls in out the way corners in a few rooms, and put a little flour or talcum powder around them, so you know if he's visited them--and that way you know what room he's closest to. Maybe drag some frozen mice along your baseboards towards the water bowls, to get him following the scent.

You can also do the snake "traps" thing--basically you want to provide hiding spots that are even cozy than the one he's in. You can cut up some cardboard shipping tubes and use those as hides, maybe stick them in some corners or under bookshelves. You can even put under tank heaters under one end of the tubes, so he has a nice warm spot. Then check the tubes every day for week to see if he's taken the "bait".

Oh lawdy, lets not hope the anti snake activists get ahold of this because they will claim you snake was trying to eat you .
