Egg question

Ok this is our first clutch and it's about day 27 and all the eggs look great! No spots, all nice and smooth and going along nicely. Well the other day I noticed one of the eggs dimpled on the top in the middle, but after opening the container and passing some air over the egg the dimple popped right back up and the egg was back to normal. I lowered the temp in the incubator from 88-89 to about 86-87 to see if it made a difference but nope it keeps dimpling in that one spot but when I pass air over it, it'll pop back up every time. Humidity hasn't changed at all since day one...should I just leave it be and just make sure it doesn't get worse or it this totally normal? There are 9 eggs and this is the only egg that's doing this dimple trick. Thanks for the help!

I wouldnt change your temps. Keep it at 88-89. Some eggs dimple but still go full term and hatch just fine. Candle and make sure the baby is fine. Make sure its not too dry or wet in the tub and I think your eggs will be ok. If it plumps back up, it should be fine. Ive had several do this and they all hatched just fine. Goodluck with the eggs. Dimpling is humidity related not temps. Keep temps at 88-89 and humidity as high as possible.

big changes while incubating can cause the eggs to go bad. when you make changes durning incubation, it needs to be small changes. if the humidity is low and your eggs dimple, you panic and slam the eggs with high humidity, you're taking a big chance in losing eggs.

vpi did some test while incubating eggs in different conditions. then they change half the eggs to the other condition. the ones that started off and stayed in the same condition though out incubation did fine. but the ones they changed not so good.

Yeah I returned temps to 88-89 after checking through the forum...so it never really got to reach 87 lol...I don't see a reason why its humidity, they're at about 90%, nice warm, moist conditions in the tub with condensation on the walls of the tub but no water on the eggs, and the vermiculite is perfectly moist (no water coming off it and I don't have to add any) and there's no fungus so everything looks good. It's not a massive dimple like it's caving in, it just looks like someone poked it with their thumb. The waiting is so difficult but hopefully I'll have good news in 25ish days! The dam is a Mojave, the sire is a reduced patter Axanthic.

Don't worry about it, some individual eggs will dimple.

condensation is cause by a difference in temps (inside temp of tub compare to outside temp of tub or later on it can be the egg heating up) you can have high humidity and little to no condensation. good luck with the clutch, let us know when they pip, don
