Baby boa pictures...I.D. question
We picked this little guy up at a show as a Super Pastel. From the reading of done in the forums I'm under the impression that there are no super pastels when it comes to BCI and if anything it's only a very clean pastel. Any opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated. The pictures don't really do him justice. He looks a bit lighter in reality. I'll have to get him out in the natural light soon.

I have not heard of Super pastel boas, just the pastel, but im still a little new to morphs as well.
If anything, you got one HOT boa!

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Re: Baby boa pictures...I.D. question
Looks like just like my Pastel. As far as I know Pastel has not been proven gentetic, or at least thats what everybody tells me. I do know that the breeder I got my girl from bred a Pastel x Normal and got all Pastels in the litter. And I have a male Hypo Pastel so it can be bred into things. Either way its a beautiful snake.

Re: Baby boa pictures...I.D. question
Pastels, in boas, are simply another term for really clean, colorful animals. There are a few lines that are proven to replicate their traits in their young---like the EBV line---but mostly, they are simply very nice looking animals. They're great for cleaning up traits in other boa morphs!
If the boa wasn't sold to you as a specific pastel line, it can't really be classified as a pastel (and no, there are no super pastels).
In any case, you got yourself a very nice looking representation of the species He is very clean, and has some nice reduced saddles. I like him a lot!

Re: Baby boa pictures...I.D. question
Thanks everyone for the input and the compliments. My girlfriend picked him out because of his appearance and I was thrilled with her decision. I have a 3 year old female BCI that he may get cozy with down the road. I also have a thing for motleys so a female motley may be the next addition.
