We're both fine, I'm bloody and shook up a bit... her on the other hand is put into a tub until I'm done cleaning.
Fyi This happned like 5 mins ago and I can't stop shaking lmao I'm more nervous of picking her up again than I would be getting bucked off a horse and getting back on.
Yep and then you might go months or ever years before you get bit again.. Come hang out with me for a week.. you'll get over that getting shook up part..I still hate getting bit..but by now you just rub a little dirt in it and keep going.. LOL

    Congrats on your first bite..

Yeah I agree a 1 is the most I would give it. It is not painful just the shock of the strike is what terrifies people. Lol I have been bit and didn't even know it until I notice a little spot of blood, my dragons have a worse bite...

    Re: Getting bit

Actually my fist bite was a baby rat snake where I worked, that was funny no pain just felt like velco sticking to my thumb. Was laughing at it thinking "That's all I was afriad of?" I don't blame her at all, I probably haven't pulled her out since Marchish and the little handling I've done is just push her out of the way to spot clean or add water. I might've smelled like mouse too, few mins before I was digging through some stuff in the garage.

    Re: Getting bit

I'd say one if that, for a defensive bite.

    BUT!

One time, one of my bigger ones nailed me. He got a hold of my pointer finger, and thought it was a rat lol. He held on for about 5 seconds trying to get a better grip, and let go. I'd give that a 2 lol. Didn't hurt, but definitely hurt more then a defensive nip. When they tag you, its like you don't even feel it. I usually bug out and jump like a baby, but laugh when its done. Its funny because you jump even though you know its not going to hurt

i would say 1 Ive been struck once it was so fast i didn't know i was hit until it saw the blood, the last 3 times i was bit(last time was 3 weeks ago) he always smells the bone behind my wrist, latches and coils then after like 2-4 mins he lets go cause he cant kill my arm, heck of a grip though!

    Re: Getting bit

my big albino boy bit me and i didn't notice. i thought he just quickly ran into his hide, so i didn't flinch or jump - i just moved my hand and looked if he went into his hide or balled up or something... so i'm changing his bowl and i notice a little tiny dot of blood on my finger... when i found out i got bit i just chuckled and closed his tub

    they're so cute haha

    Re: Getting bit

I used to be afraid of snakes until I got my boyfriend one for his birthday 3 years ago and since then we have been adding to the collection, and my fear was subsiding. My first bite was from our rescue RTB and the largest snake in our collection. The actual bite he gave me was less than a one but seeing it comeing was an 10+ for me and I still fear him when he looks at me in a strike position.

    Re: Getting bit

    -Tattoos and piercings hurt worse.
-Wasp and bee stings hurt worse.

    [...]

-Puppy teeth and cat claws hurt worse.
Back when I got my first ink, I was scared to death. I'm a recovering needle-phobic and someone told me a tattoo is like a prolonged bee sting. GOD I HATE BEE STINGS, they hurt BAD, so I was scared to death.

Now I'm addicted to tattooing and can't even come close to affording all the ink I want, it doesn't hurt hardly at all unless you get certain sting-y colours.

Wasps and bees hurt WAY worse than tattoos, most piercings, and on par with large dog bites.

I work in a grooming salon. I work with dogs. I've been ripped up plenty by dogs that physically outweigh me. I was attacked very viciously a few months ago...a massive black Lab (yeah you read that right, I'll groom a DOZEN UNKNOWN PIT BULLS rather than do a single freaking Labrador. SERIOUSLY. Four of five bites I get are LABS. Chew on THAT, supporters of breed-based legislation!) grabbed my right arm in his mouth, bit down HARD, held on and shook me like a rag doll. I'm a smallish fellow, he was almost as heavy as I, and he tore me up...smashed me into a wall a few times...it was ugly.

Me gladly admitting I'd rather get tagged by every snake I own before getting bit by a puppy has helped some of my co-workers overcome their fear of snakes. Heck, I'd take getting bit in the face by my biggest Ball over being bit by an eight-week-old Lab puppy.

Long story short, the suprise and shock ("OMG, I GOT TAGGED!!!!") of being bit by a python is a lot worse than the actual pain.

    Re: Getting bit

I'd give it a 1 for pain, and a 10 for being cool.

The thing that does hurt, though, is your elbow from jumping back and hitting your funny bone on the corner or something...
Lots of BPs, and still not enough!
