Feeding at night or during the day?

I just got my baby ball python on wendsday and today would be the day he should eat if on a 5 day regimen. Should I wait till next wendsday which would be 10 days no food, try to feed him today, or try in a few days? I dont want him to regurgitate from being stressed. When I do it should it be at night or during the day? Thanks everyone, I just want some opinions.

You can try and feed him today. You might have better luck trying to feed him at night. Most snakes are very active at night.

And should I take him out of his tub for this feeding or leave him in there for less stress?

Feed him in his enclosure. If you prescent the room he should have a decent feeding response day or night but you will probably have a better response at night.

I actually feed in a seperate enclosure...but to each his own. I know people that feed only in their tubs, and their Balls are just fine.

I use feeding tubs, FWIW. I also feed at night, never thought about feeding during the day.

Re: Feeding at night or during the day?

I usually feed at around 4 PM but my BP will eat whenever. I fed him at like 5 AM last feeding cause I was leaving for a trip, and he ate it. I would just try feeding today, if your worried about him being stressed feed him in his enclosure. Also I would suggest just setting the mouse in there and leaving him alone if its F/T, if its live make sure you keep an eye on him.

Re: Feeding at night or during the day?

I never had any problems with my bp based on night/day. The first time I fed him was a couple days after I got him and I fed him at around 2 pm and he never had a problem. Today I fed him at 10 am and he took it just fine. Some bps don't seem to care about what time of day they're fed.
