Re: What will these Morphs be worth

the 20K was assuming the investor likes the project, and that would be 20K from 0.10 females.

I would start at market price, but take offers lower. but seeings as there, currently, is no accurate market to judge what these would be worth, I wouldn't be selling for low prices. I was planning on min. 5K for a pair of super pastel double hets, I might even start them at $7500.

with 10 females and 2 males (as mentioned before) I will be spending close to 15K by the time I buy them, build the room for them, heat them, and feed them for 3 years.

Re: What will these Morphs be worth

ive heard many of these stories and plans. invest 20k and earn 50k in 3 years

its not gonna work that way. also just to invest 20k in one project doesnt seem the smartest thing to do(for me). i would buy all kinds of morphs for 500$ to 1500$. breed a bee to a lesser pastel (both in or under the 1k) and u could make a killerqueen which is worth 6 or 7k. pluss the other odds- like killerbees queenbees etc.

buy a pewter and a pastave (both under 1k) and u have the chance to produce the sterling mojo.

and so on and so on.

then buy 15 normals as bonus and let the lesser pastels, bees, pewters etc jump on em.

but thats just the way i would do it.

or look at newer snakes today and breed em into older. like buy a few ultramels and breed em to ghosts, pieds, clowns, mojos, lessers etc. and make hets.

buy ultramel girls and the other morphs as boys. breem em- keep the male hets and breed em to the mother. and if u are lucky u would make lesser ultramels, mojo ultras, pastel ultras etc.

and for the long time keep the d.h. and breed em back to each other. a ultramel glow would easyly go for 25 or 30k.

i personally prefer the first option.

    just my 2 cents

they are worth 6 to 7K right now, in three years they'll be under 1K. recessives hold their value way longer than co-doms.

To be perfectly honest and blunt with you - if people don't know who you are, and you haven't built a positive reputation by that time, people are going to be reluctant to invest (and risk) that much money in het animals from you (or anyone else who is a relative "unknown").

    .
To be honest unless you gain some reputation by than I don't think I would even buy them for $1000

Hets are a though sale, if no one knows who you are and you have no reputation people are not gonna take the risk.

My advice to you start building your reputation NOW, sell some visuals over the next few years, give back to the community, and by than people will be more willing (if interested in that project) to invest with you.

And remember don't count your "snakes" before they hatch, lots of thing can go wrong, breeders being picky feeders and not growing, breeders not breeding as fast as you want them to, slugs, problems with hatchlings etc

Can I ask one simple question before I answer your question? Have you kept ball pythons before?

The only thing I can suggest is to start small. Get a breeding pair and see if you can hatch the eggs out. If it turns out well and you enjoy it, than go for it. There is nothing like blowing 20k and deciding you hate what you are doing. Or finding out there's WAY more to it than what you thought. Just my two cents
